Faculty Position in Historical and Systematic Theology

Welch College is seeking a faculty member in the area of Historical and Systematic Theology to begin in August 2021. The faculty appointment will start at the rank of Assistant Professor and will involve teaching courses in Historical and Systematic Theology on the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Applicants are expected to have: 1) an earned terminal degree from a regionally accredited college, seminary, or university in a relevant discipline is required (Ph.D. or equivalent).

2) a record of or potential for academic scholarship; 3) the ability to teach graduate-level courses; and 4) a willingness to embrace and accept the institutional mission of Welch College and subscribe to the Treatise of the National Association of Free Will Baptists. Applicants must also have at least five years of collegiate teaching experience and five years of ministry experience.

Administrative Assistant Opening

Welch College has opened the search for a new Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives (VPSI) and Graduate Dean, and to the Dean of Adult and Online Studies, according to Dr. Greg Ketteman, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Graduate Dean of Education at Welch.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, minimum
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and student information management systems preferred
  • Experience in higher education management preferred
  • Satisfactory work references
  • Satisfactory interview and completion of background screen

The Position comprises (1) three major areas of responsibility in Academics and (2) attention to one recurring function in the Business Office. Approximate weekly allocation of time for each of the three major areas of responsibility in Academics is approximately 12.5 hours (37.5) and approximately 2.5 hours for the Business Office function, for a total of forty hours.

The position will consist of the following duties: (1) To assist the Graduate Dean in general oversight of all aspects of the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program, assisting with the Dean’s schedule; (2) to assist the VP for Strategic Initiatives/Graduate Dean, assisting the VP’s schedule, serving as the contact for all non-traditional students, and assisting the VPSI with community engagement; (3) to support prospective and enrolled adult and online students; and (4) to assist the VP for Finance in verification of deposits.
